Peacehaven Clinic

Our Approach to Dermal Fillers

In our Peacehaven clinic, dermal fillers are most often used to address gradual changes in facial structure rather than to enhance features beyond their natural proportions.

Many of our clients, often in their late 40s, 50s and beyond, begin to notice that certain areas of their face feel less supported than they once were, and choose to address these changes.

Common concerns include:

  • A loss of volume through the cheeks, making the face feel less lifted and flatter.
  • Lines forming around the nose and mouth that look more noticeable.
  • Changes around the mouth, including fine lines or a slightly downturned appearance.
  • Lips becoming thinner or less defined with age.
  • A softer jawline or reduced definition in the lower face.
  • Areas of hollowness that create shadowing and a more tired appearance.

Our approach focuses on careful restoration, not transformation. Rather than trying to correct everything in one session, we prefer to work in stages, using carefully placed amounts and allowing time to review how the face responds before adding more.

This allows results to develop naturally, keeping your features balanced and recognisable.

Outcome

Results & What Clients Often Notice

In our Peacehaven clinic, dermal filler results are subtle rather than dramatic. The outcome is a gentle, considered change that aligns with what our clients are comfortable with.

People often notice:

  • Smoother transitions between areas of the face.
  • Less shadowing in areas that previously appeared hollow.
  • A softer appearance around the mouth
  • Improved definition in areas that had started to lose structure.
  • Lips that feel more defined, while still natural in appearance.

Improvements are visible soon after treatment, with the final outcome becoming clearer as everything settles over the following weeks.

Your Visit

Your Dermal Filler Experience at Peacehaven Clinic

Consultation & Procedure

Dr Louise offers relaxed, informative appointments where you can ask questions and discuss the changes you have noticed, and what you would like to improve.

Your consultation is an opportunity to explore what feels right for you and whether dermal fillers are the most appropriate approach.

If dermal fillers are not the most suitable option, or if your skin would benefit from additional support, Dr Louise may also discuss treatments such as Profhilo, polynucleotides, Sunekos or Teosyal Redensity 1 Skin Booster.

Dr Louise begins with a friendly conversation to understand your expectations, followed by an assessment of your facial anatomy, proportions, skin quality, and any patterns of volume change over time.

She will then talk you through the recommended product choice and placement, so you feel comfortable with the planned approach.

On the day of treatment, which is often the same as your consultation, we take photographs and carefully map the entry points and treatment areas, focusing on balanced, natural results.

Treatment is carried out in a controlled, considered way, with ongoing assessment throughout.

Appointments typically take around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas treated and the complexity of the plan.

Comfort & Safety

Most people find dermal filler treatment manageable. In deeper layers, where a cannula is often used, the treatment can feel more comfortable, as these areas tend to be less sensitive than the skin’s surface. Numbing cream can also be used where needed.
For lip treatments, which are naturally more sensitive, additional numbing techniques may be used, including local anaesthetic injections.

Many dermal filler products also contain a local anaesthetic, which further helps to reduce discomfort during the procedure.

Dr Louise always prioritises her patients’ safety and monitors your comfort during the procedure. If any complication arises, whether during the appointment or later, it will be promptly addressed.

We get in touch with you the next day to ask how you feel and what everything looks like, so we can answer your questions and provide additional advice.

“Most of my Peacehaven clients do not want to look different. They simply want to soften deeper folds and shadows in a way that still looks natural and feels right for them.”

FAQs

Questions About Dermal Fillers From Peacehaven Clients

Dr Louise: “Yes, this is one of the most common reasons clients choose dermal fillers.

As the volume changes over time, the face can start to feel less supported. By restoring small amounts in the right areas, we can restore some of that structure and create a softer, more lifted appearance without changing how you look.”

Dr Louise: “Absolutely. In fact, I always aim for a natural result.

By restoring volume in areas where it has reduced over time, the skin can appear smoother and more even. The filler also attracts moisture into the area, which can help the skin look slightly fuller and better supported, rather than thin or creased.”

Dr Louise: “This is a question I hear often, and it comes down to approach. The “overfilled” or “pillow face” look is usually the result of too much product, improper placement, or treating in isolation rather than considering the whole face.

I always work conservatively, using smaller amounts and reviewing how everything settles before adding more. This keeps your features balanced and avoids that overfilled look people are concerned about.“
