Peacehaven Clinic

Our Approach to Polynucleotides

At our Peacehaven clinic, polynucleotides are often recommended to clients with more mature skin who feel that it has gradually become drier, thinner or less firm.

Some are beginning to notice more visible changes around the eyes, face or neck. Others may be concerned about crepey texture, sun-related damage or a general difference between how their skin looks now and how it looked a few years ago.

Polynucleotides are particularly suitable for clients seeking steady, gradual improvements in skin quality over time.

Outcome

Results & What Clients Often Notice

Our Peacehaven clients often choose polynucleotides to help their skin feel more hydrated and look firmer.

Depending on the skin’s starting condition, improvements noticed by our clients include smoother texture, softer-looking crepiness and a subtle reduction in the appearance of fine lines.

Improvements to mature or significantly sun-damaged skin may require additional treatment sessions.

Where volume loss, pigmentation, muscle movement or more pronounced laxity is contributing to the concern, Dr Louise may explain that another treatment or a combination approach would be more appropriate.

“What I like about polynucleotides is that they work with your skin rather than changing your features. I always explain that the improvement is gradual, but for the right patient, seeing the skin become healthier, fresher and more resilient over time can be really rewarding.”

Your Visit

Your Polynucleotides Appointment in Peacehaven

Your polynucleotide treatment at our Peacehaven clinic will be carried out by Dr Louise Pierre in a private, calm clinical setting.

A few days before your appointment, we will send you the relevant medical forms to complete and sign, together with your pre-treatment and aftercare information.

Your visit begins with a consultation. Dr Louise will discuss what you would like to achieve, answer any questions you may have and assess your skin to determine whether polynucleotides are suitable for you. She will also review your medical history and explain what level of improvement is realistic.

Where treatment is appropriate and you feel comfortable proceeding, it can usually be carried out during the same appointment.

We will contact you the following day to check how you are feeling. You are also welcome to contact the clinic if you have any questions or concerns after treatment.

FAQs

Polynucleotides Questions From Our Peacehaven Clients

Dr Louise: “No, not at all. Polynucleotides can be beneficial at different stages of skin ageing. I often recommend them to more mature clients who are beginning to notice thinning, dryness, crepiness, reduced elasticity or changes caused by sun exposure.

I look at the condition of your skin and what you would like to improve rather than your age alone. More mature skin may sometimes need a fuller initial course or more regular maintenance, depending on how it responds.”

Dr Louise: “They may support hydration, texture and resilience in skin that has become thinner or less robust. The degree of improvement varies, and they cannot replace lost volume or significantly tighten loose skin.”

Dr Louise: “

They may help improve hydration and the surface quality of dry or crepey skin on the backs of the hands.

They will not fully correct prominent veins, visible tendons or deeper volume loss, as these concerns are caused by changes beneath the skin as well as changes in skin quality. I will explain what level of improvement is realistic before recommending treatment.

Dr Louise: “Perimenopause can affect skin hydration, thickness and elasticity. If your skin feels drier and thinner, polynucleotides may help improve its hydration and texture.

They will not treat the hormonal cause of these changes, nor can they replace lost facial volume or significantly tighten loose skin.

I usually recommend a course of three treatments, spaced around one month apart, followed by maintenance after approximately six months. Your exact plan will depend on your skin’s condition and how it responds.“

Dr Louise: “There is not one treatment that is best for every client. Microneedling is one of my preferred treatments when the main aim is to stimulate collagen production and improve texture, fine lines, or overall firmness.
Polynucleotides are also a good option for mature skin, particularly when it has become thinner, drier, crepey or less resilient. They work more gradually, supporting skin repair, hydration and elasticity rather than creating an immediate tightening effect.
In some cases, I may recommend a single treatment or combine treatments over time. The best choice depends on your skin quality, the areas affected and the type of improvement you are hoping to achieve.
