Streatham Clinic

Our Approach to Polynucleotides

At our Streatham clinic, polynucleotides are often recommended for people who feel their skin looks tired, dull or dehydrated. They may also suit those who would like to address dark circles under the eyes or are beginning to notice early changes in texture and elasticity.

Busy routines, environmental exposure, stress and inconsistent skincare can all leave the complexion looking less fresh and resilient. Some people are particularly concerned about the under-eye area, while others would like to improve the overall quality of their facial skin.

Polynucleotides encourage collagen production and support the skin’s natural repair processes. Full information about the treatment technique, comfort measures, recommended course and aftercare is available on our main polynucleotides treatment page.

Outcome

Results & What Clients Often Notice

Improvements develop gradually, and a course of several sessions is usually recommended to achieve the best possible outcome. Depending on the skin’s starting condition, clients may notice improved hydration, smoother texture and a fresher, more radiant appearance. Fine lines may appear softer, while mild acne scarring or sun damage may look less noticeable.

Around the eyes, polynucleotides may help improve the quality of delicate skin and soften the appearance of dark circles or mild puffiness.

In younger clients whose skin is still relatively healthy, the changes may be particularly subtle. The aim is often to support skin quality and resilience rather than create an obvious transformation.

Polynucleotides cannot prevent future ageing and will not correct concerns caused mainly by facial hollowing, pronounced pigmentation or significant skin laxity. Where these factors are contributing to the concern, Natasha may recommend a different treatment or a combination approach.

““A lot of my patients want to start looking after their skin before they feel they need anything more corrective. I like polynucleotides because the focus is on improving the skin itself, while still helping you look completely like yourself.””

Your Visit

Polynucleotides Appointments at Streatham Clinic

Polynucleotide treatments at our Streatham clinic are carried out by Natasha Akbar, Registered Nurse.

A few days before your appointment, we will send you medical forms to complete and sign, together with the relevant pre-treatment and aftercare instructions.

Natasha begins every appointment with a relaxed consultation to understand what you have noticed, the areas you would like to address and the type of improvement you hope to achieve. She will assess your skin and review your medical history to determine whether polynucleotides are a suitable option for you.

If polynucleotides are suitable and you decide to proceed, treatment can usually be carried out during the same appointment.

We will contact you the following day to check how you are feeling. You are also welcome to get in touch at any time if you have questions or concerns.

FAQs

Questions About Polynucleotides From Streatham Clients

Nurse Natasha: “It can be, especially if you are beginning to notice dehydration, dullness, fine lines or changes in skin texture. I look at the condition of your skin rather than your age alone and will only recommend treatment if I think it is likely to benefit you.”

Nurse Natasha: “They may help when dark circles are partly caused by thin, crepey or dehydrated skin. By supporting collagen, elasticity and hydration, polynucleotides may gradually strengthen the delicate under-eye skin and make underlying blood vessels and shadows less noticeable.

They are less likely to help dark circles caused mainly by inherited pigmentation, deep hollows, prominent eye bags or facial structure.”

Nurse Natasha: “Yes. Polynucleotides can be used on a localised area when there is a specific concern, such as the under-eyes or acne scarring. You do not need to treat the full face if only one area would benefit.”

Nurse Natasha: “No. The treatments work differently and are used for different concerns. Filler can replace or reshape lost volume, while polynucleotides focus on improving the skin’s condition, hydration and resilience.”
