Streatham Clinic
Our Approach to Microneedling
At our Streatham clinic, microneedling can be particularly useful for people who are bothered by uneven skin texture, visible pores or marks and scarring left behind after acne.
For younger skin, the aim does not need to be aggressive “anti-ageing”. Treatment may simply focus on improving an existing concern or supporting smoother, healthier-looking skin as early fine lines and changes in texture begin to appear.
We also understand that downtime matters when you have work, social plans and a busy London routine. Our approach is controlled rather than unnecessarily aggressive. Your skin may look red afterwards, but microneedling does not need to leave your face excessively inflamed, bleeding or “red raw” to be effective.
Treatment is adjusted according to your skin and the area being treated, with additional attention given to suitable areas of acne scarring where appropriate.

Outcome
Results & What Our Streatham Clients Often Want to Improve
Microneedling is often chosen by clients who would like their skin to look smoother, clearer and more even.
One of the main concerns we see in our London’s clients is post-acne scarring. Acne may have settled years ago, yet indentations or uneven texture can remain. Microneedling can be particularly useful for some shallower and rolling acne scars, although deeper or more complex scarring may need a different or combined approach.
Other clients come to us because they have begun noticing more visible pores, rough texture, early fine lines or skin that simply does not look as fresh and smooth as it once did.
Expect the results to develop gradually as the skin remodels. We usually begin with a course of around three to four treatments approximately one month apart, then review your progress and decide whether any further sessions would be beneficial.
The aim is not to keep treating skin unnecessarily. Once the concern has improved, any future maintenance should be based on what your skin actually needs.
“Microneedling is my go-to treatment when scarring is the main concern. It’s also great for general skin quality, but you don’t need to be overly aggressive with the skin to get a good response.”

Your Visit
Your Microneedling Appointment at Streatham Clinic
Microneedling treatments at our Streatham clinic are carried out by Natasha Akbar, Registered Nurse.
Before recommending treatment, Natasha will discuss what is bothering you about your skin, assess the area and review your medical history.
If you still have active inflammatory acne, for example, microneedling may need to wait. The aim is to treat the scarring once the active condition is appropriately controlled rather than repeatedly irritating inflamed skin.
If microneedling is suitable and you are happy to proceed, treatment can usually take place during the same appointment.
Your treatment plan can also take into account other skin treatments available at Streatham. If hydration, the under-eye area or general skin resilience is more of a concern than texture or scarring, Natasha may discuss options such as polynucleotides or skin boosters instead.
