There’s a common belief that a more intense treatment means a better result. Dr Louise doesn’t work that way. She adjusts each treatment to what the skin actually needs, because putting mature skin through unnecessary trauma doesn’t make the outcome better; it just makes recovery harder.

We recommend microneedling mainly when uneven texture, fine lines, enlarged pores or acne scarring are the main concerns. It can also form part of an ongoing skin-maintenance plan, because regular treatments support declining skin quality and collagen production.

Results develop gradually as the skin repairs and remodels over time. At first many clients notice the skin feeling smoother, firmer and more even in texture, with improvements in fine lines, enlarged pores and overall skin quality becoming more noticeable over a course of treatments.

Acne scarring can take more patience. Shallower scars often respond better than deeper or more severe scarring, and a longer treatment plan or a different approach may sometimes be more appropriate.

Microneedling is not intended to replace lost facial volume or significantly tighten loose skin, so where these are contributing to what you are seeing, Dr Louise may suggest another treatment or discuss how different approaches could work together.
